This policy explains what information CallCheck (“we”, callcheck.ca) collects, why, and the choices you have. CallCheck is based in British Columbia, Canada.
Information you give us
When you report a phone number, we store:
- The phone number you reported
- The type of call you picked (for example, scam or robocall)
- Your optional comment
- The date and time of the report
Reports are published publicly on the page for that number. Please don’t include names, account numbers or other personal details. Our system automatically removes phone numbers, email addresses, links and long number strings from comments.
You don’t need an account to use CallCheck, and we don’t ask for your name or email to submit a report.
Information collected automatically
- A scrambled version of your IP address. When you submit a report, we store a one-way scrambled (hashed) version of your IP address. We use it only to limit spam, such as one report per number per day. We can’t turn it back into your IP address.
- Server logs. Our hosting provider, Hostinger, keeps standard server logs (such as IP address, browser type and pages visited) for security and to keep the site running.
- Fonts. Our pages load fonts from Google Fonts, which means your browser connects to Google’s servers.
Cookies and advertising
CallCheck itself doesn’t use cookies to track visitors. We show ads through Google AdSense, which does use cookies:
- Third party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user’s prior visits to this website or other websites.
- Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to our users based on their visit to our site and/or other sites on the Internet.
- You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google’s Ads Settings. You can also opt out of some third-party vendors’ use of cookies at www.aboutads.info.

Public data we display
Some number pages show complaint data published by the US Federal Trade Commission (FTC). This data comes from public government records. We don’t receive the names or contact details of the people who filed those complaints.
How we use information
- To show reports and verdicts on number pages
- To prevent spam and abuse
- To keep the site secure and working
- To show ads that help pay for the site
We don’t sell your personal information.
Removal requests
If a report is about your phone number and you believe it’s wrong, or a comment contains personal information, email us at geniusum.canada@gmail.com with the phone number and the reason. We’ll review it and remove content that breaks our rules.
Your rights
Under Canadian privacy law, you can ask what personal information we hold about you and ask us to correct it. Because we don’t collect names or emails with reports, we may not be able to link a report to you. Contact us at geniusum.canada@gmail.com and we’ll help as best we can.
Children
CallCheck is not directed at children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their information.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. When we do, we’ll change the “Last updated” date at the top.
